Cover Page Final

Hi, I am back. I showed this cover page to my teacher and we together added a few more tweaks in the cover page. I added a line between the Pull Quote and the Headline to separate them and also added a little border on the top and the bottom of the cover page and finally I am done with it!

Cover Page Creation Process

Hello!
Finally back from winter vacations. As we have decided the layout and content and photography has also been done, now it's time to start the main task. It is time to design the cover page  of my magazine.

Firstly I have decided the size of 10 Inches by 12 Inches for my magazine.
I have opened up the Photoshop and the layout of the page with this size.

Then trying various of backgrounds for the the cover page from my photography I chose a picture of spegaties to add as a background.

Then I made a rounded rectangle on the top left corner of the cover page and added my magazine's logo and the date in it.
Here it is: 

The I added the Headline and the Pull Quote under the logo in the middle of the page in a large fonts. I tried various fonts and finalized these. I also added shadow behind the text so that the text is more prominent on the background.

Now I added a rounded badge on the right bottom corner of the cover with some catchy lines in it to attract the readers and tell them what is inside the magazine.

Finally I added bar code on the left bottom corner of the cover and now I am done with it.

Mood Board - Creation

Hey World!
I am back and as we were taught about Mood Board, now we have to create one of our own. I have an idea of making a Mood Board so I will be following that idea.
Firstly I googled a little to find some food images and got the following images for my Mood Board. Three of them are PNG without background and two are JPEG with background.

The idea revolving in my mind was that I will overlap each picture and will fade them so that they will be merged in each other.
I started my work and opened a blank page of 500px by 500px in Photoshop. Then I added my first JPEG which is of a delicious Karahi.

Then I added the second JPEG of B.B.Q and changed its opacity in the blending options to 65%.
This is how it looks now:

Lastly I added 3 PNG images on 3 corners and also changed their opacity to 65% and was done with my Mood Board.
Here is the final output:

 So now I am done with my Mood Board.

Mood Board - Introduction

Hello Everyone!
Today we were told about "Mood Board" in our class and were told about it's definition.
It is defined as an arrangement of images, materials, pieces of text, etc. intended to evoke or project a particular style or concept.
It is a type of a collage of images of same category and something like that.
As my magazine's genre is "Food" I googled some mood boards and here are some of them:

Now we have some idea of Mood Boards so we are asked to create 1. I will be making a Food Mood Board.

Poster Recreation - Editing (Day 2)

Hello Peeps!
Yesterday I was done with the background removal process. Today I have to create the poster and finish up the work.
I started my work by opening up a blank page in Photoshop.

Then I added the image I edited previously at the right place.

Then I added the small text at the bottom of the poster just by cropping it out from the other poster because this text was not visible and unreadable.

Then I added a suite case from the original poster because we didn't had any similar case to take picture. Then I added the rest of the text on the right places according to the real poster and was done.

The font used in the text "Tom Hanks is Forest Gump" and "July 6" is "Book Antique" and the small at the top is written with "Arial" Font.

So finally I am done with my Poster Recreation Task.

Poster Recreation - Editing (Day1)

Hello Reader!
Yesterday we had a photo shoot for the poster recreation and I finalized one of the picture out of them to edit.
Here it is: 

I removed the background using "Pen Tool" in Photoshop and cropped out the shadow, my friend and the bench.

Then I added a color overlay on the shodow's layer to give it a grey color like it's in poster.

That was all what I did today and hopefully will be done tomorrow.

Poster Recreation - (Photo Shoot)

Hello!
As I mentioned in my last post, we were given a task to recreate a poster of the movie "Forest Gump".

Today we are going to have some photo shoot. "Talal" one of my group member brought is black dress for the shoot. As we can see in the poster above, the man is sitting on a bench, we found a bench to take pictures in our basketball court. We dragged the bench to take images. The photography was done by my other group member "Razim". The following images were taken first.

Images were taken from different angles but we did a mistake. The shadow was going in front of Talal, not at the back as it's on the back in poster so we had to retake pictures by changing the direction of bench. We took the following pictures later.

I think one of these 2 images will help me out to create the poster.
That is all we did today. :)

Poster Recreation - Introduction

Hello!
Last week I learned Photoshop which was once a dream of mine. Now we have some more task to do. We are divided up into groups and we have to Recreate posters which are assigned to us.

The poster assigned to my group via a lucky draw, is of  the movie "Forest Gump".
Here is the poster:

Now we have to recreate it by taking pictures and doing editing in Photoshop. We will divide up tasks between us and will work together.
